Brewery discovery

Editorial Standards

Good recommendations start with good information. Hops & Stops aims to be helpful for real brewery visits, not just a collection of copied descriptions and unverified claims.

Selection and sourcing

We build city guides using publicly available information and official brewery sources. Inclusion in a guide doesn’t mean we’ve personally visited or tasted every brewery, and initial guides are not exhaustive rankings.

What we try to verify

We prioritize a brewery’s identity, physical location, official website, and published visitor information. Beer availability, hours, food menus, events, and amenities can change, so visitors should confirm those details before traveling.

Original descriptions

We write our own editorial summaries and do not invent personal visits, customer reviews, star ratings, or time-sensitive details. Where information is incomplete, we leave it out rather than guess.

Photos and permissions

We prefer original images, media supplied with permission, and appropriately licensed photography. We provide attribution where a license requires it. City landmark imagery establishes a destination and should not be mistaken for a picture of an individual brewery.

Corrections and closures

We aim to correct inaccurate details and remove or clearly identify closed venues when we learn of changes. An upcoming brewery-owner workflow will provide a more direct way to request updates.

Editorial independence

Initial brewery inclusions are editorial, not paid rankings. Any future sponsored listing or paid placement will be marked so readers can distinguish it from independent content.
